Welcome to Edda! This guide will help you get started with our platform and show you how to access additional resources to enhance your experience.

Edda is a collaborative tool for professional investors that allows you to see the true dimension of your investments and the value and impact they create. Our platform is design-led and combines dealflow, portfolio, LPs and business community management in one place.

Navigating the Admin Panel

Accessing the Admin Panel

  • Follow the step-by-step guide to access the Admin Panel.

  • Once inside, you can manage users, pipelines, and workflow stages directly.

User Management

  • Go to the User tab in the Administration Panel.

  • From here, you can:

    • Create new users

    • Edit existing users

    • Disable or delete user accounts

  • The Admin Panel provides full control over user access and roles.

Pipelines and Funds

  • Edda uses a double deletion process to prevent accidental data loss.

  • Step 1: Archive the pipeline or fund

    • Hover over the desired pipeline in the dropdown menu.

    • Choose the Archive option.

    • The archived pipeline remains visible in your list and can be restored or deleted later.

  • Step 2: Delete the pipeline

    • Once deleted, all companies and associated data will be permanently removed.

  • This process ensures data safety and allows recovery before final deletion.


Configuring Your Dealflow Workflow

  • Set up your Dealflow stages directly in the Administration Panel.

  • You can:

    • Create, rename, or delete stages as needed.

    • Design a workflow that matches how opportunities progress through your Dealflow.

  • The stages New, Watchlist, Rejected, and Invested are fixed and cannot be changed.

  • All other stages are fully customizable to reflect your internal investment process.


Creating a New Deal

1. Add a New Company

  • From the Dealflow homepage, click โ€œAdd New Company.โ€

  • Choose one of two options:

    • Type the company name manually, or

    • Drag and drop a pitch deck.

  • When you upload a file, Edda automatically extracts key information (team, market, business model).

2. Enrich the Company Profile

  • After extraction, you can connect to:

    • Crunchbase

    • Dealroom

    • Pitchbook

  • This enriches the company profile without manual data entry.

3. Review the Result

  • Edda creates a fully populated company page with:

    • Summary notes

    • Key data

  • The result: structured, actionable deal information generated in seconds.

Company Profile: Comments and Tasks

Comments

  • Located in the right-hand panel of the company profile.

  • Use it to:

    • Tag teammates

    • Leave insights or questions

    • Upload documents

  • Keeps communication organized and linked to the deal.

Tasks

  • Found next to the Comments tab.

  • You can:

    • Create reminders

    • Assign responsibilities

    • Set deadlines and track completion

  • All tasks are visible to your team.

Task Center

  • Access a global view of tasks by user, pipeline, company, or status.

  • Quickly see whatโ€™s in progress or overdue.

Automated Tasks

  • In Settings, define automatic task creation by pipeline stage.

  • Example: when a deal reaches โ€œDue Diligence,โ€ Edda can assign a pre-set checklist automatically.

  • Saves time and ensures consistency.

Custom Scorecards for Deal Evaluation

Creating a Template

  • Go to Settings โ†’ Scorecards.

  • Define:

    • Scorecard name

    • Evaluation categories (e.g., Team, Product, ESG)

    • Scoring scale (0โ€“3 or 0โ€“5)

    • Weighting for senior reviewers

Score a Company with Your Team

  • On a company page, click โ€œAdd Score.โ€

  • Select a template and submit:

    • Scores

    • Comments

    • Red flags

  • Remind reviewers with one click if scores are missing.

  • Edda calculates averages automatically for a clear team consensus.

Dealflow Metrics and Reporting

Reports Overview

  • Go to the Reports section to analyze your pipeline.

  • Select a time period and apply filters (industry, source, market).

Funnel View

  • Visualize company movement through pipeline stages.

  • Identify bottlenecks and conversion rates (e.g., Screening โ†’ IC โ†’ Term Sheet).

Overview Tab

  • Displays:

    • Pipeline volume

    • Stage duration

    • Active/rejected/fundraising companies

Additional Insights

  • Track:

    • Deal sources

    • Investment markets

    • Fund deployment

Team Performance

  • View contribution by team member:

    • Deals sourced

    • Activity level

    • Conversion to investments


Investing in a Company: Seamless Dealflow to Portfolio

Transitioning a Deal

  • Move a deal to the โ€œInvestedโ€ stage.

  • Confirm:

    • Investment date

    • Fund assignment

Data Transfer

  • Choose which data carries over:

    • Team

    • Documents

    • Metrics

    • Notes

  • Manage these in Dealflow โ†’ Portfolio Settings.

After Transfer

  • The deal remains in Dealflow with a โ€œPendingโ€ tag.

  • Linked to its fund for ongoing tracking in the Portfolio module.

  • Prevents duplicate data entry.


Email Integration

Connecting Your Account

  • Go to Settings โ†’ Integrations โ†’ Email.

  • Click โ€œConnect Mail Accountโ€ and choose your provider:

    • Gmail

    • Outlook

    • Other

  • Complete the login flow.

Email Matching

  • Edda matches emails to companies using:

    • Company website

    • Contact email addresses

Privacy and Control

  • Edda does not read email content โ€” only:

    • Sender

    • Recipient

    • Subject

    • Timestamp

  • Use the blacklist to exclude specific senders.


Contact Center

Accessing Contacts

  • Click the menu icon in the top navigation bar โ†’ Contact Center.

  • See all stakeholders:

    • Founders

    • Board members

    • Co-investors

Managing Contacts

  • Sort and filter by name, company, or role.

  • Customize visible fields and export data.

  • Click a contact to view:

    • Connected emails

    • Logged events

Events Tab

  • Log meetings, calls, or touchpoints.

  • Keep a full interaction history accessible to your team.


User Management and Permissions

Managing Users

  • Go to Settings โ†’ Users.

  • View:

    • Active users

    • Pending invitations

    • Inactive users

Adding Users

  • Click โ€œAdd Usersโ€ โ†’ enter email โ†’ assign role.

Roles and Permissions

  • Admins / Moderators: full access.

  • Viewers / Custom roles: limited or pipeline-specific access.

  • Hide sections like Documents or Notes if needed.

  • Changes apply immediately.

  • SOC 2 and ISO 27001 certified.

  • Hosted entirely in the EU, fully GDPR-compliant.

  • Includes:

    • Two-factor authentication

    • Encrypted communication

    • Regular security audits

  • Edda never sells or analyzes your data.

  • You can export your data anytime.
