Details |
|---|---|---|
1. Start typing |
Search begins after typing 3+ characters |
Before typing, the last 10 recent searches are shown |
2. Narrow results (Optional) |
Select a category |
Once you open the search modal, you can select a specific category to narrow your search. After choosing a category (e.g., Companies), start typing your query and the results will be limited to that category only. |
3. Results across all categories |
Results are grouped by category |
4. Result order |
Items are sorted by relevance |
5. Result preview info |
Each item shows helpful context |
Note: The system treats items containing characters like _ or - as a single word.
e.g., IMG_3DB1D653E010-1.jpg is indexed as one full word, so search will only return results when matching the first 3 characters or the full string — partial keywords won’t be found (e.g., typing “653E” won’t match).

The recent search results shown before typing come from previous actions where the user entered a value in the search bar and then clicked on "[company, task, note, etc.].
These recent searches are stored in the user’s browser local storage, which means they will disappear if the user clears their local storage or browser data.
